Qutab Minar
📍New Delhi
India is known for its rich heritage and historical monuments that carry a lot of significance. One of them is the Qutub Minar. The Qutub Minar is a tall minaret made of brick. Its construction was initiated in the 12 century by Qutub-ud-din-Aibak after he invaded and defeated the last Hindu Kingdom. The structure constitutes five storeys. Out of five levels, the first three use red sandstone, and in the top two, one can see the use of marble and red sandstone. There is an iron pillar which is 7.21 metres high in the Qutub Complex, and it is believed that one who can encircle it with their hands will be able to fulfil a wish. Known as the “Tower of Victory”, it is said to have been built in three different stages. The site is popular among tourists, and several people flock to see and admire the architectural marvel.
