Hanuman Garhi - The Heart of Ayodhya

Hanuman Garhi is located near the Ram Janmbhoomi in the centre of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. This beautiful temple is made in the Nagara style of architecture. It is the highest structure in Ayodhya and can be seen from all around Ayodhya. This beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. As per the sculptures, when Lord Ramchandra was leaving Ayodhya, he instructed Hanuman to stay back and protect Ayodhya. Devotees pray at Hanuman Garhi first to seek Lord Hanuman's blessings and permission to visit Ayodhya successful. Colorful pillars adorn the entrance area of the temple. There is also a Vijay Stambha i.e Victory Pillar in the temple. This pillar was brought by Lord Hanuman from Lanka and placed here in celebration of the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana. Devotees pray at the pillar for the fulfillment of their wishes.
