Divine temple

Built in 1988 by Birla Foundation, this white marble temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laskhmi. The temple is also known as Laskhmi Narayan Temple and is located on the base of the hill where Moti Dungri fort stands bulit. Birla temple is a landmark for the city and sees a large number of tourists and devotees every day. The three domes of the temple represent the different religions in India. The marble sculptures narrate references of the Hindu Mythology with the glass windows showcasing stories of some great mythological events. The pictures of historical achievers, legends, philosophers and spiritual saints like Socrates, Christ, Buddha, Confucius are also displayed in the temple.  The temple periphery also contains statues of its founders - Rukmani Devi Birla and Braj Mohan Birla facing the temple with folded hands. The temple opens at 6am for morning prayers and the main section is closed at 7:30. Then the Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laskhmi Idols are decorated and the doors open at 9:15 again for the Divine Aarti which is a treat to watch, to feel connected and absorb yourself in its purity.
