GOLPATA FOREST (MINI SUNDERBAN),TAKI

Golpatar Jungle, also known as Mini Sundarban, is a bit unknown to the people of Main Kolkata city. It is located under the Hasnabad police station in Basirhat subdivision of North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal, India. Golpatar Jungle is actually located on the banks of the river Ichamati which separates India and Bangladesh. The Golpata forest marks the point where the river is so narrow that it brings the two countries closer together. This is very lonely and attractive to the tourist for its natural beauty as the forest is of Mangrove plants like Sundari, Garan, Gewon, Gol, Keora, etc. It is more important for the tourist in security point of views because there are a B.S.F. camp in front of the forest. The bridge which went through the forest has a point from where we can be able to see the beautiful Ichamoti River. Mini Sunderban or Golpatar Jungle is a must visit place if anyone comes to Taki.
