Hatay Künefesi Tarihi incelendiğinde Türk ve Osmanlı tarihindeki izlerine rastlamak mümkündür. Nebizade Nurullah Mehmet Efendi 18. yy Ağdiye Risalesi'nde künefeden bahsedildiği görülmektedir. Kitapta Hulviyat adı verilen tatlılar bölümünde “Kuteyfe” denilerek künefe ve kadayıfın pişirilme usulleri anlatılır.
