Tala Kaveri

Tala kaveri is located on Brahmagiri hills near Bhagamandala in Kodagu district, Karnataka. It is situated at a height of 1276m above sea level & 48km from Madikeri, Coorg. It holds high religious importance. Talakaveri is said to be the source of River Kaveri. River Kaveri is one of the seven sacred rivers of sapta Sindhu belonging to the Hindu scriptures. There is a small spring called as a tirtha kundike or Brahma kundike. It is believed that the river originates from this spring. This spring flows underground and emerges after a short distance. Near the kundike, there is a shrine. In front of the shrine, a huge thank has been built where pilgrims take bath and offer prayers.
