Viva Sto Nino
📍Plaridel
Sto. Niño is said to be the oldest religious image in the Philippines. The image was brought in the country in 1521 as a gift of Ferdinand Magellan to Lady Humamay, the wife of Rajah Humabon, after they were baptized to the Catholic faith.
January is the month dedicated for the feast of the Child Jesus or the Sto. Niño. Cebuano dances the Sinulog (Cebu City) and Kalibo (Aklan) shouts for Ati-Atihan on the third Sunday while Ilo-ilo celebrates Dinagyang (IloIlo) on the fourth Sunday of the month.
