Shanti Stupa, Dhauligiri

This is the structure represents symbol of peace, built by Japan Budhha Sangha and Kalinga Nippon Budhha Sangha. This is the place where King Ashoka adopted the path of peace and tranquility. - Their is a river near by namely Daya river, it has been said during the Great Kalinga war, the war crime/casualties are so much that the whole river turned red. - Apart from the symbolisation of peace, what else this structure symbolises to me is the greatness and the dedication of Odia’s for their motherland. There was no King(when Ashoka attacked - probably the window he got to attack); still the people of Odisha from every city, village street came forward and fought against the cruel Ashoka army. History might have registered a glory of win for Ashoka but could never able to hide the courage/ bravery / strength / motivation / love / sacrifices of the people of Kalinga for their motherland. - I as an Odia very proud of my ancestors/ forefathers.
