So today i am posting another one of my favorite Crambid moth (Sameodes cancellalis) . These moths are pretty common during winters after reccuring monsoon and have a widespread distribution .. Well tonight i was reading about the Taxonomy of Crambid snout moths and it's quite complicated .. as the family is subdivided into many subfamilies .. and one of my friend asked me that is Pyralidae is also a subfamily ..well the answer is no both are different family ..in older classification some moths are placed in Pyralidae and where it is considered as a subfamily ..but according to the revised Taxonomic literature both the family are separate and are placed under the Superfamily Pyraloidea.
Feel free to share and follow me on ig @harsh_nature_photography for more snippets ..
