The Robberfly are the most photogenic Insects for Macrography whenever you visit the woods they are good at giving poses and are agressive predators ... Though I had uploaded a pic of robber few days ago but i couldn't resist myself from uploading this frame as it's one of my best frames ... The shot was taken using my Mobile .. Thank you 😉 ➡️Common_name :- Robberfly or Assassin fly ➡️Binomial_name :- Ommatius tibialis ➡️Scientific_classification :- Kingdom:Animalia Phylum:Arthropoda Class:Insecta Order:Diptera Family:Asilidae Subfamily:Asilinae or Ommatiinae Genus:Ommatius ➡️Description :- found at the tips of short stems. This is not a very large fly, is usually seen low to the ground, and may be more common than it appears from the literature. ➡️Identifying_characteristics :- The antennae of this genus has plumose antennae, and although it is difficult to see in many photographs, it is diagnostic . The femurs of the species are mostly black but with different, but distinct, patterns of orange/yellow on each leg. The tibias are mainly orange/yellow but all have some distinct black markings.
