Pangot - Paradise for Bird Watching
Pangot is a small picturesque hamlet famous for its jungles and birds, located just 15 kms from Nainital. Walking into Pangot is like stepping into a remote Himalayan village. It is a birdwatchers paradise and have more than 300 species of birds in and around.
When to Visit
Winter – October to March- The days are nice and crisp, but the nights get cold. Great season for bird watching and mountain views.
Summer – April to June -Cool days with pleasant nights. Good birding.
Monsoon – July to September - Cold days and nights. Good for resident birds
How to Reach
By Air
The nearest Domestic Airport from Nainital is Pantnagar Airport,
By Train
Overnight air-conditioned train from Old Delhi railway station (departing at 2235 hr.) to Kathgodam (arriving
at 0615 hr.) and then 2 hr. drive to Pangot via Nainital.
Overnight air-conditioned train from Old Delhi railway station (departing at 2235 hr.) to Ramnagar (arriving at
0500 hr.) and then 2½ hr. drive to Pangot via Kaladungi.
There are now day trains to Kathgodam and Ramnagar as well.
By Road
To get to Pangot, one can take any of the following options:

Drive from Delhi via Kathgodam and Nainital: 8 hours
Drive from Delhi via Ramnagar (Corbett National Park) and Kaladungi: 7½ hours
Personal Experience
It's advised or keep in mind that to not visit Solo because of some Wild Animals, it is Peaceful as well as Dangerous, Best way to trek is By Nanital through Deep Kilbury forest might be Adventurous.
*Beware of Leeches*
Leeches are disgusting 🥲 Personally the most Irritating thing throughout the Trek ☠️
