Shirakawago an Amazing Historical Village

Shirakawago is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses. It’s located in the Shogawa River Valley in Gifu prefecture, close to the border with Toyama. Shirakawago Japan traditional and historical architecture that no nails or metal materials were used to construct these amazing houses. The architectural style developed over many generations with the oldest houses being over 250 years old. It is designed to withstand the large amounts of heavy snow that falls in the region during winter. There are an infinite number of ways to get to Shirakawago depending on where you are in Japan. But if you use JR train the last station is Kanazawa and from there will takes about 1 hr 25 mins to get to Shirakawago by Nouhi Bus from Kanazawa. A one-way ticket costs JPY 2,000, and JPY 3,600 roundtrip.
