Singapore Laksa

Laksa is a spicy noodle dish popular in Southeast Asia. Laksa consists of various types of noodles, most commonly thick rice noodles, with toppings such as chicken, prawn or fish. Most variations of laksa are prepared with a rich and spicy coconut soup or a broth seasoned with sour asam.
Malacca Cuisine in Hong Kong’s Western District has the feel of a neighbourhood favourite, with well-priced classics from Malaysia and Singapore served quickly.
Dishes on their extensive menu hail from both sides of the Johor Strait, an area where a blend of cultures and spices came together over centuries of migration and trade to create a diverse cuisine.
In that spirit, we tried the restaurant’s Singaporean laksa, a Hainanese chicken dish, and a Malaysian-Indonesian favourite, chicken rendang.
