Chatla Wetland is a seasonal wetland with a mesmerizing view. This place has often been called a landscape filled with calmness. The speciality of this place is that during winters it becomes farmlands where rice is cultivated, whereas after the winters it starts to fill with water, making it a lake. There is a tea garden nearby which adds to its natural beauty even more. The lake view of this place cannot be described; it can only be experienced.One can even opt for boating, charges arround 200 to 500 based on duration and distance. Communication Chatla is well connected to other parts of Assam and the country via Silchar, Chatla is 16 km away from silchar. Regular bus operates from Agartala, Imphal, Guwahati and Aizwal to Silchar. If travelling by train, Silchar is connected with Lumding which further connects to Guwahati. Currently all train cancelled due to Assam flood and landslide till 1st July 2022. The nearest airport to Silchar is at Kumbhirgram which lies at a distance of 22 km.
