Rolak Songo water gate

Rolak Songo Dam or Rolak Songo water gate is one of the historical buildings on the border of Mojokerto Regency and Sidoarjo Regency. This songo water gate now functions not only as a flood barrier, but also as a means of recreation and a culinary place for the people of Mojokerto and Sidoarjo. "Rolak Songo" is a term in Javanese which means Nine Dam. This name was taken because the dam consists of nine parallel foundations towering for the assistance of air coming out of the Brantas River. Rolak Songo has been built and functioned since 1857, during Dutch rule, by Ir Sutami. #longexposureindonesia
