Ashtamudi Lake
📍Kerala
📌Ashtamudi Lake, in the Kollam District of the Indian state of Kerala, is the most visited backwater and lake in the state.
📌It possesses a unique wetland ecosystem and a large palm-shaped water body, second only in size to the Vembanad estuary ecosystem of the state.
📌Ashtamudi lake is a waterbody with 8 branches, so it is named Ashta(eight) mudi(branch).
📌One of the branches ends near to KSRTC bus station, Kollam. It's just 1 KM away from Kollam railways station. You will get public buses, autorickshaws, and other means.
📌There are Houseboats and Public water transport boats at the boat station which is very close to the KSRTC bus stand. Anyway I hope, you may enjoy Ashtamudi because as a person who was born and brought up on the shore of Ashtamudi, it's fantastic.
📌Happy journey.
