KAWA KAWA

📍Ligao

Located at Brgy. Taburan, Ligao City, Albay, Kawa Kawa is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Albay, a natural park mostly dedicated to the Passion of Christ. The term “kawa” means cauldron in the local dialect. It is called such because of its shape that resembles a cauldron. Many people hike or trek this six-hectare crater to witness the majestic Mayon Volcano. There's lush greenery, varieties of well-groomed flowers, and life-size statues of the Stations of the Cross.  During the Lenten season, many devotees visit the site to pray, fast, and perform the 14 Stations of the Cross, which are part of a Christian tradition that depicts the path Jesus Christ took on his way to his crucifixion. Aside from the Stations of the Cross, pilgrims can visit a Carmelite church in the hills and the Bambusetum Park, where they can take numerous photographs. Truly, this experience is one of a kind, not only because I was engulfed in the great scenery but because I had the chance to repent and remind myself of Jesus’ life. #Pindle #Philippines #MyCountry2
