🟩 The Taj Mahal, 'Crown of the Palace', is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the right bank of the river Yamuna in the Indian city of Agra. 🟩 It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal; it also houses the tomb of Shah Jahan himself. 🟩 The grounds are open from 06:00 to 19:00 weekdays, except for Friday when the complex is open for prayers at the mosque between 12:00 and 14:00. 🟩 The complex is open for night viewing on the day of the full moon and two days before and after, excluding Fridays and the month of Ramadan. #MyCountry #GuideBook #tajmahal #agra #incredibleindia
