Shir Marikamba Devi Fair [जात्रा महोत्सव] One of the Biggest Fair of South India celebrated once in a two years. 🔸ABOUT The Sirsi Marikamba Fair (chariot procession) of the deity is held every alternate year in the month of March and taken through the town. It is attended by a very large number of devotees. Devotees from all around the state participate in this enormous event indulging themselves in the procession. Amusements for children, circuses, variety of shops, dramas and plays and many such things are set up for the people. It depicts the story of the goddess killing mahishasura Where whole world celebrates Holi every year, but people of Sirsi City celebrate Holi once in a two year where as Fair of Shri Marikamba Devi is celebrated the other year. 🔹Place Sirsi, Karnataka 🔸More about fair Chariot procession starts from the Marikamba Temple, chariot is pulled till the heart of the city by devotes. Hens, Chana and Bananas are throwin over Chariot. Shri Marikamba Devi sculpture is placed in the another temple made over market which is heart of the city. Devi is placed for 9 days. Fair is celebrated throughout the 9 days. 🔹You all are welcome 🔹 Here I invite you to our city to be part of the fair. It is celebrated from March 15th to 23rd March.
