Selomangleng tourism is a natural tourism in the municipality of Kediri , precisely at the foot of Mount Klotok. Located on Mastrip Street, Mojoroto, Corner, Kediri, Kediri City, East Java, Selomangleng Cave Tourism Kediri is a tourist spot that is busy with tourists on weekdays and holidays.
The name Selomangleng Cave itself is taken from the word selo which means stone, while this Mangleng itself means slanted, so Selomangleng means a rock whose position is tilted when viewed from the ground. This cave is formed from black andesite rock which is quite large and looks striking from a distance. The uniqueness of Selomangleng Cave is the presence of boulders that seem to be scattered and some of the stones are carved, and on the outside of the cave there are various reliefs that decorate.
The atmosphere of this cave is very dark when you enter the cave area and those of you who come will definitely smell the aroma of incense which is quite stinging on your nose. It's not even surprising that some visitors feel scared so they think long before deciding to enter the cave. The mystical impression feels thick when inside. Some visitors seem to rush out after entering the cave, because they are not strong with the pungent smell of incense.
This andesite rock cave makes it watertight. There are no stalactites or stalagmites which are commonly found in other natural caves. In this cave there are three rooms, starting from the entrance you arrive at the main room which is not so wide. After that there are small doors on the left and right to lead to another room. At the bottom of the floor, you can find many colorful flower offerings that look fresh. This is a sign that the place is often used for meditation or penance for certain circles of society.
Still around the Selomangleng Cave tourist area , it turns out that the government in the city of Kediri has also built the Airlangga Museum, most of which are located in this museum where a number of archaeological remains are said to be objects used during the reign of the Kediri kingdom . From the story circulating, Selomangleng Cave was once used by Dewi Kilisuci as a hermitage. Dewi Kilisuci is the crown princess of King Erlangga who refuses to accept the royal throne that was bequeathed to her, and prefers to distance herself from worldly life by performing penance at Selomangleng Cave .
The Selomangleng Cave tourist attraction area has now been developed as a family tour, around Selomangleng Cave there are several facilities including a bathing pool, you will be charged another rate if you bathe in the bathhouse, the cost of bathing in the swimming pool is around Rp. 4,000. Facilities at the swimming pool are devoted to a pool that is intended for children. The entrance ticket to Goa Selomangleng is IDR 4,000 for one adult and IDR 2,500 for children.
