ISKCON (Imphal)

📍Ghari

I have visited Imphal many times but this is the first time I visited ISKCON Temple near Imphal airport... The ISKCON Imphal Sri Sri Radha Krishna Chandra Temple, situated close to the banks of the Imphal River, is dedicated to the Hindu Lord Krishna. Featuring a unique architecture, the structure of this temple is made using bricks that are coated with white cement. This gives an impression that the shrine is built of white marbles. Adding to its exclusivity is the dome shaped roof with beautiful paintings, depicting various phases and stories related to Lord Krishna's life. Another remarkable feature of the temple is its natural lighting system that provides a clear visibility of the Sankirtan area, the main place for prayers and offerings. Atop the Sankirtan is a collection of vibrant precious stones, specially imported from France. The non-stop chants of Hare Rama Hare Krishna can be heard the moment you step in the temple. The hymns are quite soothing and infuse your mind and soul with a sense of serenity. The aura of the shrine is indescribable during the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami (birthday of Lord Krishna). This temple is illuminated beautifully and adorned with flowers during the festival
