📍Vasco da Gama
Morning in Goa starts with hearing the honking of the podaer on one hand and '"Nuste gheya ge" the shrill call of fishermen/women on the other.
Fish - the most important part of Goan cuisine, and Mackeral 'bangdo' has its own place in the Goan's heart. When in Goa, you will see many men and women sitting on the side of a main road, selling fish to the vehicles passing by. But officially there is a proper market place where a group of fisher-women sit in rows with their baskets of fish.
Goa being a coastal state, fishing is the main occupation since centuries. Fish is the staple food of the locals cannot do without fish in their plates. Fish curry or dry fish and rice, with or without accompanying veggies is a must.
So speaking about their favourite bangdos, there a variety of cooked styles: Bhajilo bangdo (भाजिल्लो बांगडो) Bharlilo bangdo ( भरील्लो बांगडो) Kharo bangdo (खारो बांगडो), reshad bangdo (रेशाद बांगडो), Bangdyachi udametti (बांगड्यांची उड्डमेथी), Bangdyache human (बांगड्याचे हुमण) and the list goes on......
Non Goans too are attracted to these delicacies, aren't you?
