Ranomuut

Found a piece of my childhood memories, here at Ranomuut ( means mossy water ) it used to be a racecourse. Although Horse Racing is often associated with the rich and aristrocat in Manado it's everyone's favourite sport and past time to watch a Horse Racing event. No wonder some of Indonesia's best jockeys are from Manado. Seeing what left of Ranomuut now, the horses sculptures, tall grasses and it's quietness, can't help but close my eyes and travel back to when i was a little boy in mid 70's. Excited to go to the racecourse with my father. We dressed casually nice, it's the unwritten dress code. Elated to see the horses and the jockeys 'Kuda Ban Kuda Ban' means 'Horse Race Horse Race'. The words i screamed out Gleaming. Always had a blast with my father at this racecourse. Now it's gone so has my father but the memories lingers on, the sound, the sight, the smell, the excitement. Always .. Unfortunately there's not much information about Ranomuut Racecourse History so i can't tell much about this place. I'm just grateful that it was a part of my happy childhood. #guidebook
