It is so much more beautiful when the fields are green. 🌾🍃 📄 - Did you know or have you tasted the famous "adan" rice or popularly known as bario rice? It is found only in the highlands of Ba'Kelalan, Bario, Long Semadoh, and Krayan villages of East Kalimantan, Borneo. During planting season here in August and September, the fields are filled with men and women, planting each and every seedling by hand. Whereas, harvesting season starts just before the new year, right through the month of January. That's when most village folks are at their busiest time every year! 💡 - Ba'Kelalan is a valley in the Northern Highlands of Sarawak, which comprises of 9 villages inhabited by the ethnic group of the Lun Bawang, one of the Orang Ulu (people of the interior) tribes in Sarawak. Ba'Kelalan is situated at an altitude of about 900 metres above sea level, the climate is much cooler here and the forest vegetation is different from the lowland rainforests.
