1. Offroad's Virtual Tour
šBa'kelalan
In this short series, i'll be posting certain sections of the offroads here, so you know its conditions, perhaps get to see snippets of our 'country road' sceneries. I didn't capture many photos along the way though, so you should come here and see the views yourself! š
š· - If you have seen series of my previous postings especially photos of our home building project at Pa Pala jungles, the junction ahead, just after the wooden stilts on the right here is the junction into our hidden paradise! š¤
š - Ba'Kelalan is wellknown for its 4X4 Offroad Expeditions and fun rides. Most people who loves thrilling adventures, opt for such rides; eventhough there are flights available for people to go to Ba'Kelalan.
Unlike urban cities roads, the roads here are timber logging offroads. Road conditions are unpredictable and not to be taken lightly. Especially during rainy days, for bike riders, expect to find some extremely muddy sections where you will have to push your bike, as mud sticks to tyres and blocks them or make them loose any grip. For 4X4 vehicles, be sure to use good offroad tyres!
š” - Ba'Kelalan is a valley in the Northern Highlands of Sarawak, which comprises of 9 villages inhabited by the ethnic group of the Lun Bawang, one of the Orang Ulu (people of the interior) tribes in Sarawak. Ba'Kelalan is situated at an altitude of about 900 metres above sea level, the climate is much cooler here and the forest vegetation is different from the lowland rainforests. It is 150km from the nearest town of Lawas and just 4km from the border with Indonesian Kalimantan.Ā
