Holi- Rangpanchmi Gerr

The Gerr, is the Most famous part of Indore holi festival, Gerr is essentially a procession or a parade where, in the past, members of the maratha Holkar royal family would shower dry and wet colors, as well as water, on the public. Later, with the advent of factory and mill culture, this tradition was organized by mill owners. Nowadays, this tradition is carried out by municipal corporations, politicians, and other organizations. In recent times, some Gerr processions are also named after mills. Gerr holds the same significance for Indore as Barsana’s Lathmar Holi does for its region. #pindleindia
