Kedarnath temple

📍Sewarhi

So as you have understood by looking at the picture that this is a picture of Kedarnath, this picture has been clicked by my friend and all the information here has been given by my friend. I have divided it in each step that what is what and below that I have given all the information about it and all my friends had gone for a trip. I had not gone so I had asked them for the picture, so let's start. *Step 1: Understanding Kedarnath* Kedarnath is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas. It's one of the four sacred Char Dham sites and home to the renowned Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. *Step 2: Must-Visit Attractions* - *Kedarnath Temple*: The main attraction, this ancient temple is built on a hexagonal platform and features a conical tower. It's open from April to November, and darshan (worship) timings vary depending on the season. - *Bhim Shila* (Bhim's Rock): A massive rock that stands as a testament to the Pandavas' strength. According to legend, Bhim, one of the Pandava brothers, used this rock to construct a path to the temple. - *Gandhi Sarovar*: A scenic lake that offers stunning views and is believed to be the place where the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi were immersed. - *Vasuki Tal*: A picturesque lake surrounded by mountains, offering breathtaking views. *Step 3: Best Time to Visit* The ideal time to visit Kedarnath is from April to June and September to November. Avoid visiting during the monsoon season (July to August) due to heavy rainfall and landslides. Winters (December to March) are extremely cold, with temperatures often dropping below 0°C. *Step 4: Essential Tips* - *Weather*: Kedarnath experiences a cold climate, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C during the day and dropping significantly at night. - *Clothing*: Pack warm clothing, including layers, gloves, and a hat. - *Accommodation*: Book accommodations in advance, as options are limited. - *Food*: Try local cuisine, such as Garhwali dishes, and carry water and snacks for the trek. - *Trek*: The 16 km trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath is challenging; hire a pony or porter if needed. *Step 5: Additional Information* - *How to Reach*: The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, followed by a 6-hour drive to Gaurikund. Alternatively, take a train to Haridwar and then a bus or taxi to Gaurikund. - *Pooja and Darshan*: Book puja and darshan tickets in advance to avoid long queues. - *Medical Facilities*: Medical facilities are limited; ensure you have necessary medications and a first-aid kit. #guidebook #pindleindia
